This is a pretty trick configuration that Dano and I put together 10 years ago, and it’s still working perfectly on the VMC shop car to this day. Not only does it do a better job at keeping oil temps down and consistent, but this moves the oil filter out of the engine bay to make more room for intercooler piping or a side exit exhaust. As well, filter volume is nearly doubled (IE: increased filtration capacity).
This kit is intended to work with the OEM forward facing filter housing, which is not included with this kit. We offer two configurations: 1) The 2 piece aluminum filter relocation kit, shown -10AN adapter fittings and NPT plugs, and a Mopar oil filter. Or 2) All of the parts in the relocation kit, with the addition of a Setrab 25-row oil cooler, 6-feet of Fragola -10an hose, and all of the needed Fragola -10an hose ends to plumb the complete system.
This is very much a Do-It-Yourself kit. We are supply all of the parts but mounting of the filter mount and oil cooler will be up to you. On our shop car, the oil cooler bracket has been modified over the years for different FMIC’s and there are a few other factors that would make one bracket not work for every car. As well, the exact location of the filter mount can vary depending on preference. Also, you will need to assemble your AN hoses.
We really recommend our complete kit to keep those oil temps in check, but you are welcome to run any cooler and -10 plumbing with this relocation kit. Also recommended is a JM fab race bumper to gain additional clearance up front for the large oil cooler. If you feel you need a smaller cooler, we can substitute a shorter Setrab,
This kit is intended to work with any 4G63-powered DSM equipped with a forward-facing filter housing.
