We designed these brackets to attach to the wiper cowl of the DSM engine bay and hang the fuel filter vertically below the cowl. These bracketsare powdercoated black and include all necessary stainless fasteners for installation. We recommend installing Rivnuts on the wiper cowl to attach this bracket, and that would require you to purchase the tool to install Rivnuts ($15-80 on Amazon). With this bracket, we will include the Rivnuts and screws, as well as stainless self-tapping screws for those who don’t want to use Rivnuts.
This bracket is designed to work with the larger Fuelab filters that run the larger 5″ element. We offer the bracket and hardware by itself, or we can sell it with the Fuelab filter (black color only).
FITMENT NOTES:
MOD 1: We designed this to sit as close to the firewall as possible, down low, to leave at much clearance as possible between the filter and intake manifold. It should fit fine with any intake manifold on the market. It does crowd the injector driver pack, so you may need to move it or just the wiring slightly. We find it fits best mounted in the area shown in the images.
MOD 2: This version mounts the filter closer to the passenger side of the firewall. It can be mounted anywhere in the circled recess shown, but we find it’s best suited as far over toward the passenger side as possible. This mounts the filter up higher than the MOD 1 version and not as tight to the firewall. Cruise control would need to be moved or eliminated. We recommend a 45* fitting on the bottom of the filter, to clear the shifter cables.
These will fit any 1995-99 Eclipse or Talon.
